Taylor Swift took over Times Square in New York City to play a few selections from her new album, "Red", on ‘Good Morning America.'
Taylor gave a 12-minute performance.
Meantime, first day sales for Taylor Swift's "Red" reportedly sold more than 500,000 copies-- 262,000 on iTunes alone, where the album topped the all-genre chart within 36 minutes of release. Billboard is reporting first-day sales of Target's exclusive version topping 160,000, and estimating a second-consecutive debut week number of more than 1 million in sales.
Taylor Swift would become the first female artist in the Nielsen SoundScan era (1991 to present) to have a pair of albums sell more than a million units in a single week.
Other "Red" milestones:
Thirteen of the top 20 iTunes songs, including No. 1 "Everything's Changed."
Track sales exceed 4.5 million so far.
The Target number wrests the retailer's one-day record from Speak Now.
Topped iTunes in 32 countries day of release.
