~~ Jason Aldean debuts at No.1 overall with "Night Train", selling more than 409,000 units.
Aldean's fifth album is the second-largest debut of the year behind Mumford & Sons' "Babel" (approx. 600,000).
Aldean's previous best sales week came in 2010 when "My Kinda Party" debuted also at No. 1 with 193,000 copies sold.
~~John Rich is hosting a rally for Governor Mitt Romney today in Ohio. It's called "Musicians for Mitt."
Randy Owen of Alabama is the first of several artists to be announced for the event.
Kid Rock and Rodney Atkins performed this week at another GOP event in Colorado.
~~ Vince Gill, Hunter Hayes and Keith Urban have joined the performer ranks for the 46th Annual CMA Awards. Presenters will include The Band Perry (also performing), Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler and Sugarland. The show airs live from Nashville Nov. 1 on ABC-TV.
~~ Taylor Swift will perform at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards.
Swift is also nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist alongside Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. The show airs Nov. 18 on ABC-TV.
~~REMINDER: Loretta Lynn's 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry will be celebrated on this week's episode of "Noteworthy at the Opry", Saturday night at 9 eastern on Great American Country (GAC).
Lynn performs "You Ain't Woman Enough", is joined by Trace Adkins on "Lead Me On", and the Pistol Annies, Lee Ann Womack and her sister Crystal Gayle for her signature "Coal Miner's Daughter".
Other performances include Carrie Underwood's "You're Lookin' At Country", Miranda Lambert's "Honky Tonk Girl," Lee Ann Womack's "I Know How", and Crystal Gayle's "Don't Come Home A Drinkin'".
The show will re-air OIct. 28 at 1 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Oct. 30 at 9 p.m.
