While we've been thinking of costumes and candy this Halloween, millions are without power due to hurricane Sandy.  My cousin sent me these pictures and comments:

"People without power are using the power source from my apartment building's Christmas lights to plug in their cell phones and laptops to recharge them. All of the power is out 1 block away from us from 39th Street south to the southern tip of Manhattan. We are 1 block away from the evacuation zone so the streets around them are filled with people who are in the evacuation and power outage zones."
