COUNTRY QUICKIES: 11/14/12

~~ Luke Bryan has reached No. 1 on the country singles chart-- again!-- with his newest single ‘Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.'

The singer topped the Mediabase / Country Aircheck chart last week and he remains at the top once again for a second consecutive week. The song also bumps up a slot on Billboard, topping both charts.

Coming in behind Bryan on the charts are Jake Owen – who holds down No. 2 on both Mediabase and Billboard with ‘The One That Got Away' – Miranda Lambert (‘Fastest Girl in Town'), Florida Georgia Line (‘Cruise') and Rascal Flatts (‘Come Wake Me Up').

‘Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye' is Bryan's fifth No. 1 and seventh straight Top 5 single.


~~Martina McBride is slated to perform as part of CBS' 52nd annual Thanksgiving Day Parade celebration. Portions of the parade will be featured in the 86th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The co-hosts of CBS' ‘The Insider,' Kevin Frazier and Brooke Anderson, will anchor the celebration, while country singer and actress Laura Bell Bundy will serve as reporter during the event, talking to and interacting with the crowd.

The special will air on Thursday (Nov. 22) on CBS live from New York City, and will broadcast from 9AM until noon.

~~ Organizers of the Country Stampede announced the final lineup for the 2013 edition, which takes place June 27-30 at Tuttle Creek State Park near Manhattan, Kansas.

Jason Aldean committed last year to returning in 2013 as a headliner; he'll sing on Friday, June 28. The other headlining acts will be Little Big Town on Thursday, Lady Antebellum on Saturday and Miranda Lambert's Pistol Annies on Sunday night.

Other performers will include Colt Ford and Jake Owen on Friday; rising young stars Jana Kramer and Scotty McCreery on Saturday; and newcomer Morgan Frazier on Sunday.


~~Summerfest, the annual party in Milwaukee, has snagged country star Jason Aldean as headliner.
 
Aldean, along with special guests Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett, will play Marcus Amphitheatre June 29.

~~Rascal Flatts will appear on E!'s "Chelsea Lately" and NBC's "The Voice" on Nov. 19 and 20 respectively, to celebrate the release of their DVD project, "Rascal Flatts: All Access & Uncovered."

The DVD will be available on Monday, Nov. 19.


~~Thompson Square will publish a novel titled "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not?" on June 4, 2013. Based on their breakthrough single, it will be published by Howard Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

The husband-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson will collaborate on the plot with novelist Travis Thrasher. The story will follow characters David Winters and Zoe Spark, aspiring songwriters who are drawn to each other romantically after numerous obstacles in their own personal lives. 


~~Jason Aldean hit the stage last night on NBC's "The Voice", performing ‘The Only Way I Know.'

Two of the show's contestants, Bryan Keith and Dez Duron joined Aldean for the song.

~~Taylor Swift has joined MTV's East Coast awareness and funds campaign called Restore the Shore with Architecture for Humanity, helping those affected by Superstorm Sandy (airing tomorrow night, Nov. 15, at 11 ET).
Amen to that! It's a sweet gesture on Swift's part and hearing words of encouragement and support from a superstar is likely a nice salve for the many victims of the storm.
