COUNTRY QUICKIES: 1/23/13
~~Journey and Rascal Flatts will headline the Super Bowl XLVII CMT Crossroads concert at the New Orleans Sugar Mill on Feb. 2. The episode will air that night at 11 p.m. ET/PT, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.
This will be the second collaboration for Journey and Rascal Flatts. In June, Rascal Flatts closed the 2012 CMT Music Awards by inviting Journey to perform "Don't Stop Believin'" with them onstage.
~~Lady Antebellum released a new single, "Downtown," to country radio. The track is the lead release from their upcoming album. No release date or title for that album has been announced. The trio will perform it on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" next Monday (Jan. 28) and "The Talk" on Feb. 6.
~~ Tonight, Scotty McCreery returns to ‘American Idol.' 19 year-old Scotty was the winner in the show's tenth season. He will return to the show for an appearance during the audition rounds in Charlotte, in his home state of North Carolina.
~~ Taylor Swift is bigger than Madonna, at least in one category.
The Billboard Hot 100 chart ranks pop songs, and, with Taylor's latest, "The Moment I Knew," she has had 57 songs appear on that chart. With that, Taylor passes Madonna for total songs to show up on that chart.
Only one other woman artist has had more songs on the Billboard Hot 100, and that's Aretha Franklin with 73.
~~No backstage meetings with Toby Keith.
Toby has kicked off the 2013 leg of his Live in Overdrive tour, but he has canceled all of his upcoming meet-and-greets, out of concern for his safety.
According to a statement on his website: "Due to current security concerns, ALL personal meet and greet requests for friends, family, and Fan Club members have been discontinued. Thank you for your understanding."
No further explanation was given.

~~Randy Travis and prosecutors in Plano, Texas, have reached a plea agreement on an assault charge resulting from his altercation with his fiancee's ex-husband Ritchie Beougher. Law officers issued the assault citation after the incident on the parking lot of Prestonwood Baptist Church in August. He later filed a lawsuit against Beougher, alleging the confrontation was part of a scheme to physically injure and humiliate Travis.
As part of the deal, Travis will receive 90 days deferred adjudication, (which allows a defendant to plead guilty or no contest in exchange for meeting specific legal requirements during the time period). Once the stipulations are met, Randy may avoid a formal conviction or have the case dismissed.
He still faces a DWI charge stemming from a one-car accident in Grayson County, Texas, in August.
~~Six months before Country Thunder rolls into Twin Lakes, Wis., festival organizers announced Tuesday that the festival is officially sold out. No single-day tickets will be sold.
Fans who have purchased a campsite and have not yet purchased tickets, should immediately call 866-802-6418.
The country music and lifestyle festival, slated for July 18-22, will feature performances by Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Lee Brice and Chris Young.
